First printing

The plate is finally finished and sealed. At the moment I’m experimenting with different viscosity and colours of ink and with different methods of inking.

Straightforward intaglio, single colour

Viscosity inking, the problem with this is I don’t have a hard and a soft roller big enough to cover the plate in one pass which makes the print a bit streaky

Intaglio inking with two colours plus a relief roll. I do like this last one

Experimenting with colour

I tend to think in tone rather than colour so while my current collagraph plate is under construction I thought I’d experiment with drypoint and monoprint, trying to get away from ‘realistic’ colour.

Not the most successful prints but I’m hoping what I’ve learned from the process will help me combine monoprint with the collagraph later on

New Year, New Print

I’m working on what I hope will be a new set of prints based on local architecture, starting with a viewing point from the Chinese Gardens at Rivington.
